I have been working at Miners Den Melbourne for just over 3 years now but I have been amongst the detecting community for 30 years and I am also a current member of the PMAV in Melbourne. I really enjoy both coin and relic and gold prospecting equally, but as I do enjoy being outdoors and bushwalking, I find that I detect for Gold a little bit more than using my Treasure Detector. I have previously owned a fair share of Detectors of different brands, but I currently own a Minelab Explore II, Minelab SD 2200 and a GPX 4500. One of my favorite finds was actually with one of my Treasure Detectors and it was

I have been with the Miner’s Den Melbourne store for over a year now with my primary focus being on customer service and sales. I really enjoy gold prospecting and have been detecting for about 20 years. Past detectors I have owned include an XT 17000, an SD 2000 and a GP 3000 – I currently own a GPX 4500. I don’t have an exact favourite piece I have found, because finding gold in general is pretty exciting, but the very first piece I ever found was a nice 10 gram nugget – and would be my most treasured. When I’m not out prospecting, I like to work with my Aquaponics system where I grow vegies and fish in my backyard.

I’ve been working at the Miner’s Den for five years working in the customer service and sales side of things. I first tried my hand at prospecting with a detector about 1992/1993 and came up with bullet shells and an Enfield Snake Buckle. I had better luck at panning, so I opted to go that way. A friend of mine then got me back into panning about 2006. If I wanted something as well to find gold with, the SDC 2300 is the most desirable machine for me because of its compact design and its water-proof. I have used the SDC 2300 in a creek to detect for gold. Outside of work I go prospecting every chance I get. I play keyboard and guitar in a Space Rock band. I collect old records from the 1920s.
